Faith That Moves Mountains

“For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

Mountains are not particularly easy to move. They tend to be fairly anchored in place. Throughout this coming program year, in worship, classes, and discussions, the First Baptist Church in Beverly will be contemplating and acting on making mountains move with determined and steadfast seeds of faith. The times we live in are troubled. Daily we are confronted with international and national news that is just amazingly difficult from refugees in desperate search of a safe place to call home to children at school, people at a cultural event, or someone walking down the street losing their lives in gun violence. There are griefs and challenges in our own lives. But the Christian faith insists that there is hope and that if we stand firm in our convictions, we can affect positive change. We can move mountains. Come and give it a try!
