Youth Fellowship

Middle School Fellowship meets weekly on Sunday afternoons from 4:00-6:00 PM.

Senior High Fellowship meets weekly on Sunday evenings from 6:00-9:00 PM.

The participants in these groups come from church families and the larger community, and all are welcome regardless of faith background.

The extensive programs of these fellowships range from a fourteen-day Allagash Wilderness Waterway canoe trip (a four decade tradition), retreats to camps and conference centers, occasional dramatic and musical productions, serious study and programs on issues of concern to young people, community service, and many less serious activities (like laser tag, scavenger hunts, and ice cream crawls!)

The First Baptist Church in Beverly has a long-standing commitment to youth. A significant portion of the church resources are used for youth activities and many staff hours are spent with young people. FBC’s gym is used by a large number of community groups, such as pick-up basketball games.

***IN ALL CASES, MIDDLE SCHOOL FELLOWSHIP IS OPEN TO THE COMMUNITY! Please invite friends and spread the word! Also – we always have financial assistance for any program available as needed. We never want any interested young person to miss a program due to cost. Please always just come and let Julie or an advisor know if we can help with cost!

January 19th – Putnam Pantry and The Great Van Clean-Up!

4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
The warm weather this past weekend put us in mind of some early Spring Cleaning! Both groups will get to do their part to help show our love and care and thanks for the spaces and things that help support our youth ministry – the Senior High youth will be cleaning up the Youth Lounge on Sunday the 19th, and so MIDDLE SCHOOL will get the fun of cleaning up and cleaning out the van that we ride around in so often! We will ALSO get to have a little fun going IN said van to Putnam Pantry – please bring $10 for a sundae or treat! – and THEN we will take a cruise through the car wash and then work together to clean out the inside of the van and get it fresh and ready for 2020!

Sunday, January 26th – Gym Games and Kinball

4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
We’ll have a fun afternoon of favorite games in the gym (German Dodgeball, Crab Soccer, Floor Hockey, and more!), as well as busting out the giant kinball (a very large and light ball that is used for all kinds of fun!) for some cooperative games! Come dressed comfortably and wearing sneakers – let’s have some fun!

Sunday, February 2nd – Puppy Bowl at Cape Ann Animal Shelter

***PLEASE NOTE SPECIAL TIME: 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.***
We will meet EARLIER in the day so that families that have Superbowl plans and parties can still do that (even though the Patriots are out!). Please come to the church at 1:00 p.m., and we will head out to Cape Ann Animal Shelter to learn a bit about their work AND to see cute dogs and cats! Please bring a donation for the shelter to add to our group donation for this program. You could bring dog or cat food, a dog or cat toy, gently used blankets or stuffed animals, or paper towels – or check their website for more donation ideas, too! We will return to the church at 3:30 p.m. for pick-up.

Sunday, February 9th – TBA

4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
We have a few programs with guests and presenters that we are still working out timing for – so stay tuned as these items get filled in!

Sunday, February 16th – Cassie’s Movie Afternoon!

4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
It’s the start of February School Vacation week, and we will be getting together for a fun and relaxed MOVIE DAY to kick it all off! Our Advisor Cassie will be selecting a great movie for our viewing pleasure! All you have to do is bring a favorite movie-watching snack to share… and then come ready to enjoy the show!

Sunday, February 23rd – Glow Stick Games

4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
This is always a fan-favorite event! Come ready for some glow-in-the-dark fun, as we bust out the glow sticks, the glow rings ,the glow glasses… and more! Bring a friend!

Friends are ALWAYS welcome to any program, at any time! The more, the merrier!

** With ANY of our programs, we never want cost to be an obstacle to youth being able to attend. If money is an issue, please just speak to Julie Flowers or any one of the advisors, and we will make sure that youth can attend and expenses are covered. We want all youth who are interested to be able to come and enjoy Fellowship – so please let us know how we can help make that happen!***
