Youth Fellowship

MS bowling

Middle School Fellowship meets weekly on Sunday afternoons from 4:00-6:00 PM.

Senior High Fellowship meets weekly on Sunday evenings from 6:00-9:00 PM.

The participants in these groups come from church families and the larger community, and all are welcome regardless of faith background.

The extensive programs of these fellowships range from a fourteen-day Allagash Wilderness Waterway canoe trip (a four decade tradition), retreats to camps and conference centers, occasional dramatic and musical productions, serious study and programs on issues of concern to young people, community service, and many less serious activities (like laser tag, scavenger hunts, and ice cream crawls!)

The First Baptist Church in Beverly has a long-standing commitment to youth. A significant portion of the church resources are used for youth activities and many staff hours are spent with young people. FBC’s gym is used by a large number of community groups, such as pick-up basketball games.

***IN ALL CASES, MIDDLE SCHOOL FELLOWSHIP IS OPEN TO THE COMMUNITY! Please invite friends and spread the word! Also – we always have financial assistance for any program available as needed. We never want any interested young person to miss a program due to cost. Please always just come and let Julie or an advisor know if we can help with cost!

Upcoming Events for Middle School Fellowship (all events take place from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted):

Sunday, October 21st Halloween Hype-Up

4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

We’ll take the opportunity to get into Halloween mode and get excited for the holiday with some ahead-of-time celebrating, fun, and games! You don’t have to wear a costume (although you CAN, if you already know what you want to be!), but please do bring at least one silly item from home – anything you want – to use in a game!

Sunday, October 28th Seussical the Musical!

SPECIAL TIME: Meet at FBC promptly at 2:15 p.m. for a 3 p.m. show; return to FBC for pick-up following the show

Our very own 8th grader Jason Kenny is STARRING in this production as Horton the Elephant, so let’s go and see a great show AND show our support for him! We will meet at the church PROMPTLY at 2:15 p.m. to head to the Hamilton Community House for the musical, and we will return to the church after the show. Ticket cost is $13.00/person (financial assistance is available as needed).

Although we do not USUALLY run programs where we need an exact headcount, for this program we DO, to ensure we do not have more fellowshippers than tickets! PLEASE RSVP TO JULIE at jflowers@fbcbeverly.org NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 21st TO ENSURE YOU GET A TICKET – we have 15 reserved, so it will be first come, first serve! Let’s show Jason some great FBC Fellowship support!

***Save the Date for our FALL RETREAT at Grotonwood in Groton, MA!

Friday, November 2nd – Sunday, November 4th! More info to come!**

Youth Fellowship General Permission Form

**With ANY of our programs, we never want cost to be an obstacle to youth being able to attend. If money is an issue, please just speak to Julie Flowers or any one of the advisors, and we will make sure that youth can attend and expenses are covered. We want all youth who are interested to be able to come and enjoy Fellowship – so please let us know how we can help make that happen!***

Upcoming events for Senior High Fellowship (all events take place from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted):

Sunday, October 21st Horseback Riding

2:30 p.m.- Meet at Church for a 4:00 p.m. ride in Westford, MA

We will return to church following the ride; most likely around 6:00 or slightly after!

For this event, we had to require sign-ups in advance (which we try to avoid but some events require it!) – if you are NOT signed up and wish to see if there is still space, please email Emily Harting at eharting14@gmail.com or Julie Flowers at jflowers@fbcbeverly.org

Sunday, October 28th Halloween Scavenger Hunt!

6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Come in costume for a frightfully spectacular photo scavenger hunt, created by our very own Rachel Schneider! This will be a chance to get in the Halloween spirit while having some creative fun! Dinner will be provided.

Friends are always welcome at ALL our programs; we also never want cost to be an obstacle to attendance at events, so please just speak with an advisor about financial support for any event, as needed.
