Youth Fellowship

MS bowling

Middle School Fellowship meets weekly on Sunday afternoons from 4:00-6:00 PM.

Senior High Fellowship meets weekly on Sunday evenings from 6:00-9:00 PM.

The participants in these groups come from church families and the larger community, and all are welcome regardless of faith background.

The extensive programs of these fellowships range from a fourteen-day Allagash Wilderness Waterway canoe trip (a four decade tradition), retreats to camps and conference centers, occasional dramatic and musical productions, serious study and programs on issues of concern to young people, community service, and many less serious activities (like laser tag, scavenger hunts, and ice cream crawls!)

The First Baptist Church in Beverly has a long-standing commitment to youth. A significant portion of the church resources are used for youth activities and many staff hours are spent with young people. FBC’s gym is used by a large number of community groups, such as pick-up basketball games.

***IN ALL CASES, MIDDLE SCHOOL FELLOWSHIP IS OPEN TO THE COMMUNITY! Please invite friends and spread the word! Also – we always have financial assistance for any program available as needed. We never want any interested young person to miss a program due to cost. Please always just come and let Julie or an advisor know if we can help with cost!

Upcoming Events for Middle School Fellowship (all events take place from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted):

Sunday, February 10th: Laser Quest

SPECIAL TIME: 3:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

We’ll meet SLIGHTLY earlier than usual, just to make sure that we can get on the road and get to Laser Quest in Danvers in time to get in two games of laser tag! Please make sure to bring $15 to play (we can offer financial assistance if needed, as always!) and come ready for some fast-paced fun! We will be

Sunday, February 17th: School Vacation Movie Mode

Parent Meeting: 2:30 p.m.

Movies: 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Middle School Parents: We’re working on trying to schedule in some semi-regular opportunities for you to come and connect with Fellowship leaders and us with you! These are not indicative of any worry or concern – just born out of our desire to form a strong connection with you and your Middle Schoolers and make sure that we can share some of what’s happening in Middle School Fellowship with you AND answer your questions, as well! If possible, we are asking that you swing by for a 2:30 p.m. meeting on 2/17 – it will wrap up in an hour or less to give time to get your Middle Schooler to the church, if needed. Please RSVP to Julie by emailing jflowers@fbcbeverly.org if you can attend! Thank you so much!

Middle Schoolers: Kick off school vacation week with a relaxing afternoon with your Fellowship Family! We’ll gather in the Youth Lounge for a laid-back movie day. We’ll provide the movie, popcorn, and drinks. You bring along a favorite movie-watching snack to share – and a friend, if you want! Feel free to come in comfy clothes and/or to bring a sleeping bag, pillow, or blanket to get comfortable while we relax and watch!

Sunday, February 24rd: Sledding (Weather Permitting)

4:00pm – 6:00pm

We’re hoping the weather will cooperate and bring us some snow so that we can sled… but, if it doesn’t, Advisor Will Popadic has a great back-up plan that will have us all laughing and “figure skating” indoors! We’ll put out the word as it gets closer – and we all see the weather – which activity we will be doing; but either way you can count on a lot of fun and hot chocolate! If we DO sled, please bring a sled or tube (if you have one) and make sure you dress to be outside!

**With ANY of our programs, we never want cost to be an obstacle to youth being able to attend. If money is an issue, please just speak to Julie Flowers or any one of the advisors, and we will make sure that youth can attend and expenses are covered. We want all youth who are interested to be able to come and enjoy Fellowship – so please let us know how we can help make that happen!***

Sunday, February 10th: Bowling Night

6:00 p.m. –9:00 p.m.

We’re headed out for an evening of bowling in Gloucester –so come with your socks (for inside those rented bowling shoes) and $15 to bowl (we’ll help cover cost as needed, of course!) and ready to have some fun! It’s candlepin, so we’ll be doing some classic New England style bowling –and we’ll have dinner together, too. Bring a friend for the fun!

Sunday, February 17th: Make-Your-Own-Pizza/Spreading the Love to Our Community Night

6:00 p.m. –9:00 p.m.

We’ll gather together in the church kitchen to spend time baking some delicious treats to then take and share with community helpers and leaders around us –like firefighters, police, and others –to help spread the love with those who help us in our lives every day. We’ll also have the chance to make our own pizza dinner together, creating our very own individual pizzas that we will then enjoy as we spend time hanging out and having fun together.

Sunday, February 24th: Skyzone!

6:00 p.m. –9:00 p.m.

We’ll meet at the church at 6:00 p.m. to head immediately over to Skyzone for a fun evening of bouncing around! Make sure that you have a signed waiver on file in their system –their waivers are all online, so please have a parent/guardiango to the Skyzone DANVERS (they all have their own site) website and fill one out for you ahead of time. We will also get dinner after we bounce, so please bring $25 for the cost of bouncing and eating. As always, we can help with cost –just tell an advisor!
