You’re Invited: Stay After Worship Sunday for “Baptists By Fire!” Art Event for ALL

Throughout our Lenten journey so far we have had the opportunity to explore the transformative power of this season of the church year and of the life of faith through the lens of transformative elements found in creation. So far, our exploration has invited us to consider the elements of fire, earth, and air; this week, we will consider the element of water. After worship this Sunday, we have the opportunity to interact with some of these same elements as part of an All-Church art project! This art project will invite each participant to create a beautiful and unique piece of art on a tile – but it will be done using liquid (not exactly water, but close!), air, and fire (don’t worry – we will have qualified adults staffing/doing this particular station of the project, so everyone will be safe!). Our own art will be transformed from start to finish in this project, and each person will have the chance to take home a beautiful and unique piece! Additionally, we will have Silly Sailboat Races for our younger friends (allowing them to explore the ways in which the elements of water and air can work together!), as well as lots of delicious snacks and treats to fuel your creative energies!

Event Added Ahead of Holy Week:

Join us on for pizza and a movie on Friday, March 31st, at 6:00 pm, as we prepare to enter into Holy Week on April 2nd, Palm Sunday.
We’ll be showing Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert, the 2018 version of the musical starring John Legend as Jesus, on the big screen in our sanctuary and all are welcome!
Everyone is invited to bring blankets or pillows – whatever you’d like to get comfortable in your seat and enjoy the show. Kids are welcome to bring blankets or sleeping bags to spread out on the floor up front, too, if they wish. What’s a cozy movie night without your sleeping bag, frankly?!
We’ll have pizza available in the gym as people are gathering from 6-6:30 pm, and then we’ll get the movie rolling promptly at 6:30 pm. Any remaining pizza will continue to be available outside the sanctuary (we’re just asking that no pizza come into the sanctuary!); we will have snacks and drinks available, as well, which can be brought in during the movie. Bring a friend along for all the fun, as well!  RSVP by emailing Julie at jflowers@fbcbeverly.org so we can get a headcount for food and snacks, please!

Email Pat by Sunday, March 26th to place your Easter Lily or Tulip order for this year’s Easter Sunday Service on Sunday, April 9th.

The next Element for Sunday, March 19, 2023 is WATER. This upcoming Sunday will also be the Interactive Art Event!! Everyone is encouraged to wear BLUE to Worship to help us think about our weekly element.
