The First Baptist Church in Beverly has a long-standing commitment to youth. A significant portion of the church resources are used for youth activities and many staff hours are spent with young people. FBC's gym is open afternoons to the youth of the city and is used by the YMCA Basketball League as well.

2008 Allagashers
Please Note

Allagash Work Nights Continue!
Allagash Work Nights will be held every Monday night, from 7:00 until 8:30 pm, in the Allagash room in the church basement. All youth participating in the 2008 Allagash trip are encouraged to attend.

Youth

Three youth fellowships serve the needs of children and youth. Middle School and High School Fellowships meet every Sunday, and Children's Fellowship meets once a month, on Sunday afternoons. Not all participants in these groups come from church families. The extensive programs of these fellowships range from a fourteen-day Allagash Wilderness Waterway canoe trip (a three decade tradition), retreats to Baptist camps, occasional dramatic and musical productions, serious study and programs on issues of concern to young people, community service, and just plain fun!

Senior High Fellowship

This Past Sunday in Fellowship
The BHS band and music trip claimed most of the group this past Sunday, but Kathleen Wendell, Oscar Hernandez, and Jeff Crean were an eager and enthusiastic group for mini golf, roast beef (and lots of french fries!), and ice cream. Richardson’s was a bit chilly, but great fun was had by all! Bill Schneider took top honors in the advisor golf group...Rachel Schneider, last year’s champ, was soundly defeated, as she had an off day, scoring 108 for 18 holes! (Sorry Rachel!) The group ended the evening with Concerns and Celebrations (on wheels!) led by Oscar.

Sunday May 11: Car Wash and the 4th Annual Mom Game”

The Senior High will be working with the Middle School washing cars to help earn money for Fellowship. Then, the Senior High will return to the church at 6:00 PM to get ready for the 4th Annual competition of the now-famous MOM GAME! All moms—or grandmothers, aunts, or those who are like moms to the kids— should arrive at 7:00 to be paired up with their Senior Higher for this game of laughs and competition. Last year’s champs, Bethani and Cindie Boccia, won’t be here to defend the title (since Bethani is now off at college!), so the game is wide open!

Middle School Fellowship

This Past Sunday in Fellowship
The cool weather could not hold back the Middle School Fellowship as they headed off to Salem Willows for an afternoon of fun together. The mini-golf course at the Willows was not yet open, but the group still had plenty to do, playing in the arcades, enjoying Skee-Ball, Dance, Dance Revolution, Deal or No Deal, and many others! The group also celebrated advisor Dave Thomson’s recent engagement—he was given a gift of a boomerang and a plastic fly, purchased with the tickets won from many games of Skee-Ball!

Sunday May 11: “Car Wash/Surprises for Mom”
The Middle School Fellowship will be joining forces with the Sr. High to earn money by washing cars immediately following worship (those who are not usually in worship are invited to come to the church at 11:00 to help begin the washing, and those who are in worship should bring a change of clothes and head out to the parking lot immediately afterward!). Then, the group will return to the church at 4:00 PM to work on some great Mother’s Day surprises!
