Scripture speaks to us, through the words of the prophets and through the teachings of Jesus, of the powerful and intimate connection into which we are all invited by and with our loving God.

The prophet Jeremiah says, "I will be their God, and they shall be my people... they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest" (31:31-34). We are all God's beloved children, connected to our God and to one another.

Jesus says to us, "I am the vine, you are the branches" (John 15:5). No other connection has that power, that promise of unconditional love, that invitation to be a part of a deep and abiding community - of the human family.

Adult Classes

We believe that faith is a journey, not a destination. At First Baptist, a commitment to adult education encourages adults to continue to work on their faith, to question, to wonder, and to support one another in these
life-long efforts to learn and face new challenges. New
members are always welcome at any point in the year.
Unless otherwise noted, classes meet at 9:30 a.m. on
Sunday mornings.

Sunday Morning Classes

Adult Bible Study - This class meets in the Mary Kuell room and enjoys lively discussions while studying a variety of texts, both biblical and academic. If you are looking for interesting study and discussion that can lead to new insight, then this is the class for you.
Mae Patten Class - This class meets in the lounge behind the sanctuary to study the Scripture and apply it to their lives. This group of women has met together for many years and loves the addition of new members.
Faith Journey - This class explores the relationship of individual faith to daily life by looking at the scriptures
and their connection to some of the difficult issues we face in our daily lives. The class meets in the Conference Room in the church office wing, on the street level.

Other Opportunities

Bible Study 201 - This class is for anyone intrigued by the study of scripture and meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month in the Mary Kuell Room at 6:30 p.m.
Book Group - This class meets once a month on a Friday at 11:45 a.m. to discuss a book participants have selected and read. For more information and specific dates, contact Wilma Caulfield or Loyce Thomson.
Spiritual Formation Group - Throughout the year, look for special classes and sessions that will focus on our lives as spiritual people and being open to the transforming power of God's Spirit.
Adult Fellowship Groups - Adults at FBC have the opportunity to gather together for fun and fellowship throughout the year. Opportunities for Men's and Women's Fellowship groups are announced throughout the year, and all are welcome!
