About FBC
Whether one approaches by land or sea, the landmark steeple of the church marks the center of this coastal community twenty miles north of Boston. Over the past two hundred years, the steeple itself has come to symbolize to both the membership, and the community at large, the commitment of the First Baptist Church to providing religious and civic leadership through Christian service to those in need and advocacy for peace.

Vision Statement
Our vision is to be an open, welcoming, diverse fellowship of believers in Jesus Christ who are committed to carrying out his teachings.
As the church sustains our faith through worship and study, we will sustain and nurture each other, working and talking together and acting upon the concerns and celebrations of our church community. We seek to balance spiritual development and social action in order to share God’s love with others by shining our mission light at home and beyond.
Church Covenant
As members of The First Baptist Church in Beverly, we believe in God, the revelation of Jesus Christ, the leadership of the Holy Spirit, and the kinship of all people. This belief is the foundation of our faith.
With this faith, we shall strive to mold our lives to reflect the life and teachings of Jesus Christ as revealed in the Bible. We understand that this commitment calls for the demonstration of love, the pursuit of justice, the advancement of peace and the relief of human suffering throughout the world.
We believe that the Church is the living expression of the teachings and ministry of Jesus Christ on earth and is open to all people. We believe the Church must respect and embrace the great range of human experience from which the boundless grace of God is revealed.
We acknowledge the claim of the Church upon our loyalty and devotion, and we pledge our support for its ministry through our personal service and regular contribution.
We believe that the Church represents the primary means to advance Christian understanding, and that our faith will be sustained and enriched through regular Bible study, prayer and participation in services of worship.
We commit ourselves, so far as our ability permits, to the care and support of each member of our church family, to the continuous nurturing of our faith, and to our collective efforts to advance the Kingdom of God.
